Health inspection records indicate Wilson High inTenleytownwas cited in February for conditions that could promote the presence of insects and rodents. Holes were found in the walls of the kitchen area. However, no follow-up report is available.

D.C.'s Department of General Services is responsible for maintaining school buildings. The agency did not respond toWUSA9'srequests for comment.

Rat poison stations are present around the exterior of the school.

A staff member said exterminators were working in the building Monday after complaints by alumni. The staffer said a pest control contractor visits the school bi-weekly throughout the year.

Students told reporter Scott Broom they have seen roaches and mice, but do not consider the problem out of control.
